The Alhambra was a Palace, a Citadel and a Fortress.
It was the official residence of the sultans
of the Nasrid dynasty, and the residence of
the important civil servants, servants were
the private guardians of the royal house between
the XIII th and the XV th century, it was divided
in four parts: the Palaces, the Military part
(Alcazaba), the city (Medina) and the Generalife’s
gardens, everything surrounded by a forest .

of the Islamic buildings, there is a Christian
palace, the Carlos’ V Palace built in the XVI
Th century and where the Alhambra’s museum is
found.
To appreciate the Alhambra as a village, we recommend
the visitors to watch the building from the Albaycín
(old city of Granada) or from the Sacromonte (gipsy
quarter) from there you can see how the Alhambra
is a building inter-relationated with this city.
